Beauty Rituals Are Gender Fluid Too

Rituels Fluides
For my first exhibition in Montreal, I created this new series called ‘Rituels Fluides’ where I explored gender identity with primary colours such as blue & magenta — colours that are typically associated with a specific gender. I wanted to bend this unilateral vision of gender colour association and offer the spectator the choice to decide whether this particular photo is associated with a gender or another. I painted everything myself with spray paint and explored different options with the different items I painted.

Ultimately, the series would take the form of a paper publication where people would be confronted to gender fluidity by looking at these beauty rituals images that bend their perpsective on what they already know/believe.
