PROJECT NEPTUNE, 1994  Southampton NY

This sculpture of 5 meters height is a construction of reprocessed plastic milk jugs over a steel skeleton. It was manufactured and assembled up-island with AMERICAN ECOBOARD INC. who was innovating a process of re-purposing discarded plastic into construction lumber (decking).  The sculpture is situated on highway 27 in Southampton Village on the south fork of Long Island.  Project Neptune spanned over a year and transitioned with public input. The project was introduced at The East End Arts Council in Riverhead, NY and finally installed with the help of Bix Winters and other remarkable Southamptonites.
